Thanks for the opportunity to present today, friends. I love putting my students' best work out there so that I can go back and tell them how impressed all of you were. I'm posting a few of the slides that seemed to capture most people's attention today, and I added the links from my Power Point to my resource list on this page. Check the sidebar.
I welcome further questions and discussion because as I told a few people afterward I'm still working on understanding all that I learned on my sabbatical last year. As often as I can find a curious, critical friend to talk to, I need one. You can get my email from Candance, or leave comments here on Vox.
I wish I had kept better track of my cyber footprints when I was surfing for this information about assessing thinking, but I didn't. The best I can do in terms of crediting sources is tell you that I started googling "new media literacy" and went from there. I also have a previous post explaining my own thinking on the issue of assessing new media student text.
I have several previous posts about gaming and education. Check them out here , here, and here. Also, in my neighborhood is a blogger on Edutainment and Convergence. He's a doctoral candidate doing great research on related topics.
Finally, I don't want the technology piece to overshadow the importance of the art infusion in my classroom over the past several years. The article I talked about today right at the end of today's presentation is online at the Minnesota English Journal. And I just found myself on Google Scholar, too! Have you googled yourself lately?
